Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass that is processed by heating annealed glass to a temperature of approximately 620 degrees Celsius (1150 degrees Fahrenheit) and then rapidly cooling it with air. This process creates compressive stress on the surface of the glass, making it much stronger and more resistant to impact and thermal shock than regular annealed glass.

Tempered glass is commonly used in a variety of applications where safety is a concern, such as in windows, doors, shower enclosures, and automobile windows. When tempered glass breaks, it shatters into small, relatively harmless pieces instead of large, sharp shards that can cause serious injury.
